 The trials will come and we shouldn't be surprised when they do. Read 1Peter 4:12-19 When I was baptisted at 12 years of age, I didn't really know who God was. The teaching by my mom, the Pastor, and others were limited. But when I became a young woman, more seasoned people joined the church and began to enlighten me in Who God truly was.  I rededicated myself to God and thought I was this invincible Christian that could not be touched by anyone or anything.  Sounds crazy huh? Well...it was crazy.  When the first fiery trial hit I was so confused.(remember I said I was young and still wasn't taught enough) God is saying that trials will come to test us no matter how strong our faith is. They removes all impurities so that we can be refined as pure gold.  Although these trials can hurt, don't let them cause you to lose faith. They are necessary.

Finding Grace

 Are we really losing our youth OR are we becoming that elegant and graceful lady God determined us to be? I'm at that age now where I'm beginning to see my mother in me. She was such a classy lady who wore her beauty well. She was a snazzy dresser who believed in "keeping up appearances ". She loved her red lipstick and would always apply a little pressed power to enhance a little. Even during her illness, I still witnessed that classy lady who still tried to "keep up appearances ". I look at myself and see her; the fine lines, the developing crow's feet, the sagging jaw lines- yet I see her elegant and grace defined in me. Sometimes when I'm tempted to wear a little more makeup or put on those false eyelashes, I can hear her say, " that's enough Val. Only enhance, not cover up" Some of us sometimes become convinced that our youth is fading away and when we see younger, prettier ladies, we become a little bit sad that we are not that a...
