Finding Grace

Are we really losing our youth OR are we becoming that elegant and graceful lady God determined us to be?

I'm at that age now where I'm beginning to see my mother in me. She was such a classy lady who wore her beauty well. She was a snazzy dresser who believed in "keeping up appearances ". She loved her red lipstick and would always apply a little pressed power to enhance a little. Even during her illness, I still witnessed that classy lady who still tried to "keep up appearances ".

I look at myself and see her; the fine lines, the developing crow's feet, the sagging jaw lines- yet I see her elegant and grace defined in me. Sometimes when I'm tempted to wear a little more makeup or put on those false eyelashes, I can hear her say, " that's enough Val. Only enhance, not cover up"

Some of us sometimes become convinced that our youth is fading away and when we see younger, prettier ladies, we become a little bit sad that we are not that age anymore.

But I have discovered something.  All these fine lines, crow's feet, aches and pains are not for nothing; with them came patience,  perseverance,  wisdom, knowledge and understanding. I'm not as judgmental as I once were. I'm slower to anger now. I'm quickly forgiving others who comes against me because that is for my peace of mind. I have learned wisdom.

I have learned how to let go and let God handle every situation.

So yes...I have become my mother and I may wear a little more makeup than what she would have approved of but I'm accepting of who I have become.

A lady of Grace and class.

So define yourselves my queens; whether you are still youthful or beginning to see battle scars. Wear it all gracefully and be that classy lady you were meant to be.

#AbsoluteBeauty

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are  noble, whatever things are  just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are  lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there  is any virtue and if there  is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

Philippians 4:8‭-‬9 NKJV

Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

Philippians 4:8‭-‬9 MSG
