 "When God seems beyond reach"

   Have you ever been disappointed with the answered prayer or perhaps no answer at all?

   I have wrestled time and again with my prayer life; wondering if I'm not doing enough, wondering if God hears my pleas for help.

   Just as I'm beginning to accept the answer I was not expecting, the phone rings; more bad news. 

   Sometimes I'm at such a standstill in my prayer life and moving forward become such an effort but then I remember this scripture. 

   Jeremiah 33:3 

‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.’ 

So I push on knowing that whatever the answer is He is perfecting great things.

Finding Grace

 Are we really losing our youth OR are we becoming that elegant and graceful lady God determined us to be? I'm at that age now where I'm beginning to see my mother in me. She was such a classy lady who wore her beauty well. She was a snazzy dresser who believed in "keeping up appearances ". She loved her red lipstick and would always apply a little pressed power to enhance a little. Even during her illness, I still witnessed that classy lady who still tried to "keep up appearances ". I look at myself and see her; the fine lines, the developing crow's feet, the sagging jaw lines- yet I see her elegant and grace defined in me. Sometimes when I'm tempted to wear a little more makeup or put on those false eyelashes, I can hear her say, " that's enough Val.
